MONOLITHIA uses the symbol of the monolith as a graphic discussion of femininity through the structures of the institution. architectural,social and philosophical represented as columns,staircases,cells,bars,geometry and notions of purity and belief-mechanisms that have the conflicting function of restraint and limitation whilst offering support,reprieve and comfort.this begins a graphic discussion of how we contort these nations and forces which are modeled by them to form a functional life of necessity and aesthetic relevance.The collection is layered with the tonality of positive puritan colors (red and blue,inspired by Mark Rothko) and is veiled in a shaded shroud of ambiguity(black).
